Semminar Production Designer

We read through a short script Jules had written and made this into a idea for film. we then came up ideas of what it would look like etc, we then had to go and make a design board of pictures that would help us explain the idea of the film to someone, the groups were someone doing props, someone doing make up, someone doing clothes and i did the location. Here is what my college was:

The main idea of the script was that there was a lady and man in a room the man was tied to a chair and the lady was sort of interrogating him about an item that was inside a briefcase. For our film the item inside was a cheese sandwich and the lady was from a rebel group that lived a remote place (top left picture) and the man was the Prime Minister of a futuristic city (top right) where everyone has stooped eating and only takes food supplement pills as they have got so obsessed with obesity and anorexia. The lady is in the government building (middle right picture) on the top floor in a room ( bottom 4 pictures) trying to get the prime minisar to eat this cheese sandwich. The remaining picture was just an idea for what the cars could look like.
Through doing this I've got a rough idea of what Production Designers have to do. I also have realised how one small prop can send an audiences mind going crazy. This was shown to us by the fact that as soon as we thought of a metal suitcase being in a film we all associated it with being a gangsta film.
